The opening

The wall was reinforced concrete and the new door had to land on a marked line. A breaker would have shaken the wall and left an edge that still needed making good. Gulf Cut set a track saw on the line and cut the opening in passes.

Water from the saw was kept on the work face. The cut piece was supported before the last pass so it could not drop into the room.

The job was in Dubai. The method was a track-mounted diamond wall saw. The outcome was a door opening on the marked line, with the reinforced wall around it left standing.

What the crew checked first

Before the track went on the wall, the crew confirmed thickness, the drawing of the opening, and what was on the other side. Where the wall might have held live services, scanning came before the saw.
